Do you know what I mean? Do you know if you have a seller's mentality? Do you completely grasp the marketing skills required to market your web business?
Find these questions and my own personal answers in the latest Work and Web Women podcast.

It seems like only yesterday, when I was sitting at my computer desperately searching for other 'Web Women of Color'; business savvy ladies who were as glued to their computers as I was, blogging, making websites, and searching for new ways to make money online. My search inspired me to create the Sistas Makin Money page on myspace, which eventually gave me the idea to start Black Business Women Online, a network for Women Entrepreneurs of Color. Only a few months in the making and Black Business Women Online has turned into a network of almost 2700 women entrepreneurs. From Side Hustle Sistas to established Business Owners, the BBWO network is overflowing with women entrepreneurs who are not just promoting their own businesses, but supporting other women so more Black Women can turn their dreams into business ventures. And their are so many different types of business women on BBWO. Clothing Line Owners, Singers, Publishers, Authors, Event Planners, Bloggers, Web Designers, Magazine Creators, Actors, Preachers, Life Coaches, Cooks, Radio Hosts, Djs, Lawyers, Work at Home Moms, Cosmetic and Beauty Product Makers... the list is practically endless. I love the diversity of the group and the fact that we have a space to talk about our issues as Black Women, Moms, and Business Owners. Wanting this network to be more than simply a bulletin board of Ads, I've worked hard to encourage a strong sense of community on BBWO. Members are sharing advice, real business information, buying each other's products, and tapping into our own network of business services as a way to recycle black dollars back into our community. My eyes water ever single time a new member tells me how much being apart of BBWO has changed their lives. So many women are amazed to find a network like this, and I feel so blessed to have created it. Being able to not only build my own business, but work with other women who are doing their own thing, has truly been a win win for me. I just wanted to take a moment to let you know about the Sistas Making Money on my network: Black Business Women Online. I look forward to seeing it grow even bigger in the near future. http://sistapreneurs.ning.com -Lashanda Henry

Hello Webby People,
I am ready to get down to the business of what Work and Web Women is all about, hopefully you are too. Every month I will be posting several audio podcasts discussing topics of interest to my fellow online entrepreneurs. Some of these topics will be free to download, while others will be subscription based PodClasses as part of the 'Work and Web Women PodClass Series'.
The first featured PodClass is 'How I Pay My Rent with Good Adsense.' In this class I talk about how you can make sense of Adsense so that you can actually generate income using this program. Having used Google Adsense on several of my sites, I have learned how to successfully setup adsense and make real money using it. Though so many web publishers add adsense to their sites, not many of them can actually say they are making money from it, which is why I decided to create this particular howto guide.
Here is a sneak preview of the first Work and Web Women PodClass - 'How I Pay My Rent Using Google Adsense'

Turn Your Niche Into a Network

As I continue to develop the msoy network through expanding the Search Urban Directory and building Social Communities like Black Business Women Online, I get more and more emails from individuals interested in starting their own networks eager to find out how I created my own. With these individuals in mind I decided to dedicate my most recent e-book to explaining how individuals can create their own directories, blogs, or social networking communities without having any technical experience or the money to finance a large web project. I wanted to create a guide that was useful to many entrepreneurs out there like myself, wanting to build something positive and productive on the web, but having no clue as to where to begin. My latest e-book, entitled 'Turn Your Niche into a Network' is an easy how to guide that any one can read and learn from. Whether you are looking to create a site for profit or pleasure, my how to guide explains how you can do so by utilizing various free online services and seeking out creative marketing opportunities. Granted, there is no real secret behind building your own directory or starting a network on popular sites like ning.com. But there is a secret to how to best utilize these online services. There is a great deal that many are interested in learning about promoting a blog the right way, setting up an online directory, or even adding unique features to your own ning network.
In this e-book, I basically walk the reader through how I created my own website networks and the various free online services that I utilize every day. From generating thousands of unique visitors to my main site msoyonline.com every month to starting a ning social group with over 1,000 members or creating blogs that are featured in the first pages of google (like my Black Parenting Blog), this guide is simply a journal of personal experiences translated into useful tips and tools which you can use to develop your own network.
Some interesting topics in the guide include how to successfully use affiliate programs on your websites, how to create a directory without being a web programmer, and how to customize your ning social network in new and creative ways like adding your own book store or web directory, and discovering new ways to generate additional income through your networks.
In a nutshell my new e-book, 'Turn Your Niche into a Network' is the perfect tool for individuals looking to become 'Information Entrepreneurs' and share their knowledge, products, or services with the online community at large by creating networks on which users can both learn from and interact with others. Its a lot of great information crammed into one little e-book worth taking advantage of. No need to search for articles and tips online, download a copy of 'Turn Your Niche into a Network' and get started doing just that!
